Tumbleweed Inc. - Interview

Tumblweed Inc. mighty band all the way from Kathmandu. Since 2012 the band is satisfying nepalese youth with there Rap Metal/Funk music . After long journey of 15 years at X-Band , Sarad Shrestha left the band and latern came with a new experimental group as a Tumbleweed Inc. In couple of year being on scene thay are already out with there debut album"Parichaya" with music video of titile song "Parichaya" and "Badlido Samaj". We had talked little about Tumbleweed with Sarad Shrestha ,Lets see what he has to say regarding his band .

Regarding The band , Will you Please Explain How Tumbleweed Was formed ?

Tumbleweed Inc. was formed in 2012. After i came back from living abroad, my friend Bishal (Band- Manager) just inspired me to continue my music and to be back in the scene. That time i used to hang out with friends at Silence Entertainment. There i met my Bassist-Prashant and my Vocalist-Suwas aka Ktm Souljan who was already working as Sound Engineer at Silence Studio. At first we had Gautam Tandukar on drums, and we used to just jam and later performed some gigs as well. After Gautam left on his own personal reasons, we found Robin on drums. After he joined the band, the chemistry went pretty well and here we are with our debut album 'Parichaya' after 2 years of band formation.

Can You ellaborate the meaning Behind "Tumbleweed" and how it is related to your music ?

A Tumbleweed is a structural part of the above-ground anatomy of any of a number of species of plants, a diaspore that, once it is mature and dry, detaches from its root or stem, and tumbles away in the wind. And wherever it rolls, it releases its seed behind. Regarding the band, we would be always working hard to spread our music and love all over.

There was already a rock band from Australia with the same name from 90s. We found out the name when googling it, but after the band page was already made in Facebook unfortunately. Hence, we changed it to Tumbleweed Inc. later.

What kind of Band is Tumbleweed ?

Well, its a jamming band. Since our vocals is based on rap stuffs, so people can say rap rock, rap metal and nu metal sometimes. But for us, we would do any kinda music genre which we enjoy performing. Therefore we wouldn't go for any particular genre for our music. Its just a music, fun to perform and fun to listen and watch. 

Tumbleweed's songs have very new kind of lyrics , Some how they are also popular on youngster , How you guys create it extually ?

All our songs are based on reality of every minor, every general, common people. Our lyrics are based on societal stuff, political insecurities, the repression, agression, depression of one individual. The optimism despite of depression and frustration is always there. They all evolve'round the reality of a common man. So what we see, what we face at our daily lives, that's it.that's our music and lyrics all about.

Tumbleweed gives some new type of music in Context of Nepal , How You guys Turned into it ?

Its not the new music. The blending of rap with rock is always there since 80s. The bands like Beastie Boys, Cypress Hill, Body Count and RATM were always there since then.We were always inspired by them. And our vocalist Suwas does write so beautiful and his rapping flow is always so cool.We always enjoyed while we perform on stage together. 

You guys Just Lunched your Debut Album "Parichaya"How was the Feedback till now ?

Yeah, we are so grateful to our every fan and listener that they really loved our work. The response is really overwhelming for sure within a short period of time after our album release. The people from abroad are already demanding our physical CD copy of our album, by which we had already sent some to Australia, Hongkong and planning for US as well. The feedbacks from our listeners are already making 

us so inspired to do more for sure.

How was your Album Lunch Tour ? 

Its just been 3 months since we released our album. We just had our album launch gig in Kathmandu and Pokhara, and it pretty went well. If things go well, we would be doing in some other parts of Nepal in future soon. Some of the songs are already hitting the countdown on some major FM radio stations as well.

Is there any Futher plans ? Can your fans can get some other Great Announcement ?

Regarding plans, some more gigs on the row. will be updated accordingly. Some offers from abroad are there as well. 

Is There any Thing to announce to your fans ?

With love and support from you people to us, we are here standing our grounds. Not so special announcement yet, but we are looking forward to come up with another music video for our song 'Local Thito', for which we are requesting everyone here in nepal and abroad to send us their own video performing that song and send to us. And then we would be compiling all and come up with one single music video for the song 'Local Thito'.
